Uniform Policy & Shop

There is an expectation that all students wear school uniform every day throughout the year. It promotes pride in presentation and allows staff to provide care to students who are immediately recognisable as Northfield Primary School students. This decision has been ratified by School Governing Council. Students are required to wear the Northfield Primary School bucket hat for all play periods and for lessons held outside in Terms 1, 3 and 4.

Our Uniform Policy:

• Supports the Sun Safe Policy
• Supports student safety in easily recognising Northfield Primary School students
• Is inclusive – all students are equal in their appearance and engenders a sense of identity
• Avoids the pressure associated with peer pressure and the purchasing of expensive or fashion clothing
• Supports the development of school pride.

Northfield Primary School Uniform:

• The colour of the uniform is Royal Blue
• Bottoms can be either black or blue and of an appropriate length. Denim is not to be worn
• Casual hooded jackets or jumpers are not to be worn. In winter students must wear school uniform jackets or Royal Blue alternatives and no brand names
• Bare midriffs, low cut garments, see through or overly loose or very tight garments are not to be worn
• Footwear must be sensible, comfortable and closed – no thongs, surf sandals, ugg boots or crocs
• Jewellery must be discreet – no visible piercing, except for earlobes. Studs or sleeper jewellery may be worn in the earlobes. Large earrings and chains are not to be worn
• Make-up is not acceptable
• False nails are not permitted to be worn at school. This requirement aims to reduce the risk of injury and meets with work health and safety obligations
• Hair should be neat and tidy – extremes in style and colour are not appropriate. Long hair should be tied back.

The School Uniform Policy applies during school hours and when students are on excursions. On casual days, sun safe and jewellery dress codes still apply.

Uniforms can be purchased online through Spartan School World – www.spartanschoolworld.com.au. While this is an option to purchase a logo uniform, parents can purchase non logo tops from any other supplier, providing that the uniform items are exactly the same colour as identified. It is expected students wear the Northfield Primary School hat, and it is compulsory in Terms 1,3 & 4. Students will be asked to play in shaded areas if they do not have a hat.

All members of the school community work in partnership to support the wearing of the school uniform.

Parents and Caregivers are encouraged to contact the Business Manager if purchase of the Northfield Primary School causes financial hardship.
