Digital technology

At Northfield we provide a wide range of ICT tools for all students to engage with their learning whilst developing the very necessary 21st-century ICT skills and thinking. All classes develop units of work in line with the Australian Curriculum.

To develop ICT literate students for now and the future Northfield provides a variety of ICTs to meet the learning needs of the students. Whether students are collaborating on a project, completing individual research or collecting data there is a variety of devices available. We have multiple trolleys of iPads and laptops available for all classes, a computer suite and wireless access throughout the school.  Every classroom has a combination of iPads, tablets and computers. Staff use whiteboards and display TVs.

There are a variety of recording devices and options to capture student learning and we use the platform – Seesaw to share with families in a safe secure environment.

At Northfield we ensure that students can always access the ICT they need, however they are tools (used to collect, share and design) but it is learning that is always center to what our students do.
